REP: The scissorhands

The group of scissorhands consists of very different animals, which share several features, like reduced front legs, long claws on the middle legs, air-sacs for producing sounds and a hair-like filament covering parts of the body. This hair has only displaying function. Basically, scissorhands can be separated into scissorkiwis and mantis birds (bipedal ground-dwellers which collect small animals from the ground or hunt bigger prey using their claws) and mesosloths (quadrupedal, mostly omnivorous animals, that walk on middle and hind legs and often live in trees)
Plain mantis: Biggest mantis bird species, which hunts in open places and has a thickened cuticula as a protection against the high UV-radiation
Chameleon sloth: A typical mesosloth with moss-like skin structures and a small capability of changing color
Treehugger: A big, ground-dwelling mesosloth with the livestyle of a bear. Sometimes it uses its claws to break the shells of trees.
